PRO COR enhances investigative capabilities with 50 newly trained officers

CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet — Fifty officers, consisting of 49 PRO COR cops and one Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP), have completed the Criminal Investigation Course (CIC) that commenced on March 28 last year, the PNP Cordillera said in a statement.

As of June 2, 2023, they are now officially recognized as fully trained investigators.

During the graduation day and closing ceremony at the PRO COR Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Major Bado Dangwa on June 2, 2023, five police officers were recognized and celebrated for their remarkable leadership and exceptional performance displayed throughout the course.

The Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal) was awarded to the following police officers in recognition of their outstanding performance during the course:

  1. PCpl Milaje P. Bilalay (92.03%)
  2. Pat Elizar S. Jose (91.36%)
  3. Pat Geneva C. Claveria (90.08%)

Furthermore, distinguished leadership awards were bestowed upon PSSg Jovelyn Faith C. Dinanas, who served as the Class Marcher, and PSSg Judith B. Balaudan for her role as the class president.

In his keynote address at the ceremony, Regional Director David K. Peredo Jr. lauded PRO COR for their continuous efforts in organizing numerous Criminal Investigation Courses.

He emphasized the invaluable role of these courses in enhancing the investigative skills and competency of PRO COR cops, enabling them to effectively solve crimes within their respective areas of responsibility.

Peredo instilled in the graduates his three-point agenda, ‘DKP – Disiplina, Kakayahan, Pagmamahal’ which represents Discipline, Ability, and Love.

He also highlighted the significance of the five focus agenda outlined by Philippine National Police chief Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.: Personnel Morale and Welfare, Community Engagement, Integrity Enhancement, ICT Development, and Honest Law Enforcement Operations, all vital for fostering a stronger and more effective police force.

The ceremony was also graced by Regional Special Training Unit chief Leon Talleo and Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division acting chief Ferdinand Oydoc.
